The Abbaye

The Abbaye (637 N 3rd St) is a bar restaurant located in Northern Liberties. The restaurant kind of had two rooms. The first room when you enter is the bar area and some table seating and the second room is more table seating. We sat in the second room. We went for dinner and my only complaint was that it was too dark. I wish there were more lighting. There were candles but it wasn't cutting for me. I guess it could be a romantic place for couples to have dinner.

Seitan Cheesesteak

It was a lucky day for me because there were a good amount of vegetarian options on the menu. I got the seitan cheesesteak. It was mouth watery delicious. The seitan were thinly chopped. Although seitan's texture is softer than actual meat, I thought the restaurant did a good job trying to mimic beef. It looked like a real cheesesteak, too. The cheesesteak was well seasoned and it came with French Fries. The French Fries were somewhat crispy and addictive. I don't always finish my meal, but I basically devour this dish. I think the restaurant did well with the seitan and I would definitely come back for more.
